August 17th after we went to the orphanage we headed out to the Killing Fields. Scott tried to go a different way to the Killing Fields. We went on a road near a member where Scott had requested that LDSC look at for a project. They brought in city water lines and latrines for this sister's neighborhood. We found the home and Scott went to check the latrine in her home. On the way we saw this field of water lilies. The little huts are for resting and relaxing. These water lily fields are actually farmed and cared for because the water lily stems are used very widely for cooking here in Cambodia.
It was a very, very hot day here. One always feels the reverence for the dead here. Also one always feels great sadness for the atrocities of very wicked and cruel leaders at that paticular period of time in Cambodian History.
The memorial of Skulls of many of the victims here.
