On the way to Kampong Thom

On August, 19th, after orienting the new Vietnamese missionaries, we headed up to Kampong Thom for Scott to do an investigator interview up there. On the way we saw these sites. I have never seen a baby water buffalo nursing from it's Mom, so I had to get a picture of that.

I have been trying for months to get a picture of people riding the buffaloes. They are a mild animal and take riders well. They are eating in a dry ricefield, I think. Anyway, they are having a great time. I hope to eventually in our travels see one a little closer for my camera to capture a better image.

It is always fun for Scott and I to see what loads the motos and in this case a little horse can carry. The horses are hauling loads of bamboo shelves.

In Kampong Thom, Sophal, our famous tie maker, gets her workers going on sewing lots of ties. On our way back from Siem Reap we did a potty stop here and they were still working away. We brought a huge bag of ties back with us for missionaries requesting her ties.
