First of all, let me say that my camera has the dates so off. Everytime I take the battery out to recharge, I have to reset the date, and I forget. So, ignore the dates. The dates were Feb 7-9th, 2012. these lovely ladies are the wives of our area presidency, Sister Connie Watson, Sister Christy Perkins (husband is President) and Sister Susan Gong. They do a class for us wives of mission presidents every seminar. They do so well and we always go away feeling well fed spiritually and motivated to improve. Thank you sisters.
We have had most of our training in this chapel/cultural hall in the Hong Kong Church office building.
The Area had reserved in Elder Perkins name, 3 tables at a restaurant a ferry ride away from the Church Office building. I got a kick out of them spelling the name wrong.
Se have spent some good and special time with the mission presidents who came out with us and who will leave when we do. They are: President and Sister Chan: Hong Kong Mission.(Sister Chan learned to speak, read, and write in English while serving so that she could communicate with all of her English speaking missionaries), President and Sister Smith: Bangkok, Thailand Mission, Us, and President and Sister Grimley: Taipei, Taiwan Mission. Scott served on his mission with President Smith and President Grimley. All had the same mission president along with President Groberg in Indonesia, the former Cambodian mission president, Robert Winegar and the former Indonesian MP President Marchant. The new MP for Thailand, President Bernheisel is also from their former mission!
President and Sister Jackson of the New Delhi India mission and President and Sister Clark of the Singapore Mission. They all are wonderful and we have enjoyed our relationship with them. President and Sister Funk are serving in the Bangladore, India Mission, President and Sister Groberg are Indonesian, and President and Sister Clark are serving in Mongolia. Those three have another year left.
My last pictures of the Hong Kong Temple. I love the flowers and trees surrounding the temple and the entry way.
This building houses patrons of the temple coming in from other countries or too far away, and also the Distribution and Service Centers, Mission office, and 2 chapels, and a beautiful cultural hall.
For the last 3 years, Ryan, from the Church Office Hong Kong building has driven us to the airport to catch our flight, which is usually the first to leave. He is always gracious and gets us safely there. He also has picked us up twice. Thanks Ryan!
