Many members in the Phnom Penh area were involved in a clean up after the annual water festival. This year the main races and parade were cancelled because the money saved went to help flood victims. But there were still plenty of people to the cultural events which weren't cancelled. The Church did their special service project for the year on November 12th after the festival. We cleaned in three parks. Each district did a different park. We helped with two districts. The local police head of the neighborhood came by to check on the project and we got our picture with him and his wife. He was so impressed with the organization of it all. So was the Phnom Penh governor. He asked the Service Center director if we couldn't do the grounds by the palace too. So many people stayed extra hours to accomodate that. We had over 400 members participating. It was fun and a great success.

This little lady is from the Central District (Vietnamese). She is probably in her 80's and out there helping everyone. Scott and I enjoyed helping also.

One of the parks was Hun Sen Park and it looked so good by the time we were done. Lots of motos came with people. There was a guard in this parking lot to protect all the motos and the few cars that were there.
