A missionary came in with these bites or fungus infection. The doctors thought it was probably a bite that got infected. They put him on an antibiotic and it healed fine and caused him no more problems. A couple of Elders had something similar on the back of their necks. They were put on an antibiotic and got better. Also we had them put a triple ointment on it. No more problems with this in the mission. It was just an unusual thing.
Just don't leave them on antibiotics for too long without supplementing lots of yogurt for the good bacteria lost! That is what was caused me having contracted c-diff...
ReplyDeleteWell, he was only on antibiotics for 5 days I believe. But I'm sure that is good counsel. Most missionaries don't stay on it that long. one missionary kept having to have antibiotics for strep, but he didn't get the same illness you had. Maybe he ate a lot of yogurt! Actually we had two who had alot of penicillin for strep. Well, we are just glad that you are doing so well!
