Final Farewell to Minh Kin, Minister of Cults and Religions

Minh Kin , the Minister of Cults and Religions hosted a small farewell group to tell us goodbye and give us a traditional tray with the Angkor Wat Temple on it.  He was very cordial and nice and several other ministers were there with him because they all had a meeting together. 



We are greeting them goodbye and I pose with Min Kinh's daugther and the Assistant minister of Religion under him who is the woman in the blue and his daughter as the Khmer skirt.

Taking Elder Kong and Sister Un Home.

Elder Kong was so happy that his father moved  to Phnom Penh from the country and we could take him right to his Father's home.  They were very kind and they had a happy reunion. Elder Kong is now doing very well and has a girlfriend!  Yeah for Elder Kong!

Sister Un's family were so happy to have her back home. She couldn't remove her badge herself because it was too hard, so her Father helped her.  Such a great family. Sister Un's brother is Branch President in the Takhmao 1st branch;, I believe it is!.

Final Missionary Departures

We had a dinner for all the missionaries who were transferring home.  We decided that since we were transferring home, we owuld take our pictures too. 

Parents, waiting to take their missionary's picture as they walk the Red Carpet.  Now some may recall that I sent home the Red Carpet in my shipment.  So, I went out and bought 2 red mats which we put together to form a sort of carpet.  It was a little narrow, but worked.

Then Laura Bayles Returns with Honor.

Then Elder Dillion Hill and Elder Faught Return with Honor.  Both of them will go to Utah State. Elder Hill has been our assistant and Elder Faught was a Zone Leader.

Off to Australia

Sister Thoun comes in to be set apart before her departure for the Manila MTC before her service in Australia.  She will be a wonderful asset to her mission.  This was on June 27th, 2012.

A Farewell to Missionaries

This group of missionaries were some that came into the Mission Office our last Monday there.


My last pictures with the sisters.  I so loved going out to work with them.  It was one of my favorite things to do.  The newest sisters, I didn't get to go with them because the last 6 weeks were so intense with travel.


Sister Ly is from Ho Chi Minh City and is such a great sister.  She has served alot of her time in Hanoi and now is serving in Camodia in the Vietnamese branches.

Farewell with the Senior Couples

With our wonderful Senior Couples, we met at the William Tell Restaurant for a final dinner.  We were able to tell them how much we appreciated them and all the work they do to further the work of the Church. They are faithful and hardworking and love the members and investigators.  On the left side of the table are the Hendersons, Westovers, Tucks, Rhynes, Meirs.  On the right side are the Shelley's, us, Spencers (they are the Senior Seniors and organized this event), Grimnes and Elder James. They gave us a book with pictures of Cambodia and Cambodians, and also letter of appreciation from all the seniors and many of the missionaries. Again our hearts were touched with love and appreciation for the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people.

A closer look at the Rhynes and Sister Meirs.  I guess her husband had gone by the time I took the picture.  Elder and Sister Rhynes served in Russia as mission president and his wife about 7 years ago. The Rhynes are the Family History Directors and the Meirs are the CES and PEF couple.

Elder and Sister Grimnes serve in Kampong Thom as MLS.

Elder and Sister Shelley serve in Kampong Cham and she is the mission nurse. I relied on her alot.

Elder and Sister Yeates are in Battambang as MLS. Soon they will have 3 branches to help as the branches are growing and a 3rd one will be added and maybe it already has! They also are doing a great job and are from our sister city of Kaysville, Utah. 

A Young Adult Farewell

Our last Sunday in Cambodia these youth came to sing us some songs and tell us they loved us.  They sang, "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." and one other.  They were wonderful and Scott and I had our hearts touched by the sincerity and sweetness.  We had several of our returned missionaries in this group and how we love them too. Several of them are now serving missions as well. 



Elder Phirun is now engaged to the young woman in blue. All of the young people below are all Returned missionaries that served with us except one and she had just got released before we came.
